Who's Business Plan does not include growth, development and
expansion? This business has something in common with the one
who did not get investment, new or small business loans.
This business does not exist.
Success is nearly defined by overcoming difficulties and
keeping up with supply and demand. It's what makes it necessary
to relocate, growth forces changes upon us.
Expansion is intimidating, but the
corporate world is littered with enough studies, literature and
expert advice to foster the possibility of relocating as
terrifying. The priorities seemingly endless and unmanageable,
many will outsource the entirety of the relocation.
Few checklist items differ from that of a residential or
personal move. Some of which included notification of Stock
holders, board members and/or clientele, as well as accounts
receivable and payable. Interim accommodations must be made to
avoid business back up or slow down.
Perhaps most intimidating is preparing and relocating the
Information Technology (IT) departments; data, computers,
telephone and internet. Fortunately IT departments are just as
relocatable as they are reparable. Most internet service
providers will transfer and relocate services at little to no
charge. The greatest asset available to businesses throughout
and following relocation is any form of continuity. Continuity
of telephone numbers is also very important, or business could
drop off dramatically rather than continue to grow.
Unfortunately there is a common misconception regarding the
retention of telephone numbers.
When a phone number is created it is
linked to a rate center. A rate center is defined as the
geographic area used by local exchange carriers to set rate
boundaries for billing and for issuing phone numbers. Phone
numbers are unable to leave rate centers. As companies move from
place to place they are unable to have the numbers go with them
if they are moving out of the rate center the numbers were
issued in.
This is not the obstacle it appears
to be. Successful
relocation and the aforementioned continuity are attainable when
telephone numbers are converted to virtual numbers. Virtual
numbers are phone numbers that are permanently pointed to
another phone number. Virtual numbers do not produce a dial tone
and forward to one that does. Virtual numbers are not limited to
geographic regions. Examples of virtual numbers are market
expansion lines or tracking numbers. Phone carriers can offer to
convert numbers to market expansion numbers, but call tracking
numbers are a better option; offering more features at a lower
cost.
If you are a business that is relocating,
and have been told that your numbers can not move with you,
consider converting them to a call tracking number. Don’t be
told no. Contact ACI Call Tracking at
